Questions

FAQ

Is Pop-Up Spaces NYC free?
Yes, for brands. Spaces we list may pay us a referral commission when a booking comes through us. It is never added to your bill.
How much does a pop-up shop cost in New York?
Asking prices on public listings in October 2026 ran from about $600 a day for a small Lower East Side shop to $9,000 a day for a Broadway corner in SoHo. Fit-out, staff and insurance come on top. See our cost guide for a full budget.
Can I rent a storefront for one day?
Yes. Several spaces take single-day bookings, usually with a 10 to 12 hour minimum that covers install and strike.
Can I rent a storefront for three months?
Yes. Many landlords will license a vacant unit for a season. Ask early, and ask what happens if a long-term tenant signs mid-run.
What is a license agreement?
A short agreement that lets you use a space for set dates. It is simpler than a lease and is the usual way short pop-ups are done. Have a lawyer read it.
What insurance do I need?
Almost every space asks for general liability insurance, with a certificate (COI) naming the owner and often the landlord as additional insured. The space sets the limits. Short-term policies exist for pop-ups.
Do I need a permit for a pop-up shop in NYC?
To sell anything you need a New York State sales tax Certificate of Authority, which takes about 20 days. If 75 or more people will be inside at once, you may need a Temporary Place of Assembly permit from the Department of Buildings. Signs on the facade have their own rules. Check with the space and the city for your case.
Can you design and build the pop-up?
Yes, if you want it. Our production partner, LUME Studios, designs, builds and staffs pop-ups in New York. It is optional.

Send dates, size and the block you want. We send back storefronts that fit.
